This policy explains what personal data CV Formatter ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and CV formatting / recruitment support services, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

1. Who We Are

CV Formatter provides CV/resume formatting, LinkedIn candidate sourcing, candidate research and talent mapping, and lead generation support for recruitment and staffing agencies. This is currently operated as a single-operator service; there is no separate data protection officer, but all requests below are handled personally and promptly.

2. What Data We Collect

• Account data: name, email address, and company name, for anyone we create a client login for.
• CV / candidate documents: the CV files (DOCX/PDF) you or your organization upload for formatting, and any information contained in them (candidate names, work history, education, contact details).
• Contact form submissions: name, company, email, and any message you choose to include when requesting a quote via our website.
• Basic technical data: we do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. Standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, timestamps) may be retained briefly by our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.

3. Why We Collect It

• To create and manage your account and deliver the service you've signed up for (CV formatting, sourcing, research, or lead generation).
• To respond to quote requests submitted through our contact form.
• To maintain the security of our platform (e.g. preventing unauthorized login attempts).

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to third parties.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

Data is stored on our hosting provider's servers. All traffic to and from our website is encrypted (HTTPS). Account passwords are never stored in plain text -- they are securely hashed. Each client account is access-controlled: you can only see your own uploaded files and CV history, never another client's.

5. Who Has Access

Only the account administrator (the operator of this service) has access to client accounts and submitted data, for the purpose of delivering and supporting the service. We do not share your CVs, candidate data, or contact details with unrelated third parties.

6. How Long We Keep Data

We retain account data and uploaded CVs for as long as your account is active, so you can access your CV history. If you'd like your data deleted sooner -- for example, after a project ends -- just let us know (see Section 8) and we will remove it.

7. Your Rights

In line with data protection principles such as those under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Object to how your data is being used

These rights apply regardless of where you're located, and we will honor reasonable requests promptly.

8. How to Contact Us About Your Data

We don't publish a public email or phone number at this stage. To make a privacy request (access, correction, deletion, or any question about this policy), please use the contact form on our homepage and select "Other" -- mention that your message relates to a privacy/data request, and we will respond directly.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the revised policy.
